A Health Care Power of Attorney appoints one or more individual to make health care decisions for you if you are unable. Also known as a Living Will, this document communicates to your physicians your wishes for end of life care if you have a terminal condition.
Keep in mind that as medical standards and procedure change, your wishes may change as well. If you already have a Health Care Power of Attorney and/or Living Will these documents may need updating. Bradford Miller Law can handle all your estate planning needs from start to finish and any revisions you may require.
Some things to think about before you decide to have a Health Care Power of Attorney drawn up is to make sure that the person(s) you appoint is able to make major medical decisions for you and are mature enough to handle that responsibility. In the case of an emergency, it is also beneficial to appoint at least one person who lives in the same city or state so they will be readily accessible. Give us a call so we can help you through this process and advise you from a legal standpoint.
