When to update your estate plan

Unfortunately, many people have outdated estate plans. You should create or revise an existing estate plan when:

- Having a new child or grandchild

- Getting married or divorced

- Experiencing a substantial change in net worth

- Changing jobs or retiring

- Moving to another state

- Tax law changes

- Selling your business or losing a business partner
